Alchemist, Dehuman
ANU Bar Canberra
BMA Issue 74 – November 1998
Michael Szabo

The first band on the bill that had no name and played Black Sabbath covers .The singer said “I may not sound like Ozzy Osbourne, but I am having fun” I Haven’t seen Dehuman since they supported Damaged a couple of months ago. They are always at a stage where you think there’s no possible way they could get any tighter but they impress me every time. No wonder they get such good supports. The drumming was phenomenal: like a machine, always on the ball constant and consistent. Alchemist played a song from “War of the worlds”. Excellent stuff. They mixed their set list around which made it a quite different show. Towards the end, there were calls for “Clot” to be played and because Alchemist are so good to their fans they answered it. The singer tried hard to get the unenthusiastic souls at the front to smile. He failed. Shame on them.
Michael Szabo.
