| The
whole of 2002 was spent writing, this time
in Rod's garage in the suburbs. He had bought
a V-Drum set up and everything went into Adza's
mini disc and was monitored through headphones.
Adam brought back a POD from the US, which
was awesome for guitar tone. The sound through
the set-up was great and there was a mixer
so everyone had their own level. The band
would meet three times a week there and spend
hours on the new tracks. There was less volume
so it was a less fatiguing environment than
the normal playing volumes. Adam also started
demo-ing the tracks at home for the new record
on computer and much of the year was spent
refining songs into the final compositions.
Technological improvements had made it much
easier to record ideas and the band could
be far more prepared when it became time to
enter the studio. Although not on the bill,
Alchemist still organised Metal for the Brain
12 only to have the show cancelled due to
public liability insurance being withdrawn.
This was an incredibly difficult time for
the band as much effort is involved with the
show and all the advertising had been made.
Preparations continued for recording in the
New Year. |
