| After
considering their position in regards to the
mixing of their 3rd CD, Alchemist hired Ritchie
Norton of Superheist and went to Backbeach
studios in Victoria to finish the record.
Norton had produced Superheist's debut Demo
Apocalypse, an awesome sounding demo that
launched his band into the Australian music
scene. Alchemists took a chance on the young
engineer and have never looked back. The Album
title was 'Spiritech' and was released in
1997 by Shock Records and proved to be a landmark
album from the band further establishing Alchemist
amongst the best bands in Australia gaining
excellent reviews, triple j radio play and
overseas magazine exposure. Alchemist toured
heavily throughout 97 including the Roadblock
festival in Sydney supporting Cradle of Filth,
a tour with Canada's Strapping young lad throughout
October, shows in Tasmania, 4ZZZ Market Day
in Albert Park, MFTB 7, finally finishing
the year with a new years eve show in Canberra. |
